Brutal Realm Let the Epic begin!

Factory News and Toylanta preparation.

Factory informed us last night that they will have the painted and official mold color EP’s done for the three Barbarian Warriors: Jagun, Chetan, Krieger and Cro-Magnon done by the end of the week unfortunately it’s not in time to have shipped for display at Toylanta. But we will have the test shot we’ve shown before for anyone to play with and check out the articulation range and feel without worrying about breaking like our prototypes. So that means the timeline now is if all notes are addressed in the EP’s than the FEP’s (Final Engineering Pilot) we should get in April and then production begins. We’re paying them in advance for the materials to get it going asap.

The Lion’s Den still being painted for Toylanta if you’re in town come check it out as it is massive and we hope it helps give you an idea of the size and scope of the works we’re building.

Statue of Oba Kabiyesi the Great Warrior King who sacrificed his life where the Lion’s Den is so that his power would not fall into darkness. This is just a little more world building for display purposes and maybe a sneak peek at characters to come in the future on larger bodies. Looking forward to seeing you all at Toylanta and talking about Brutal Realm. Hopefully you all realize how close we are to production and are excited. Let’s Get Brutal!

 First pass at Uruk The Sumerian! The sandals will be removable as will all the accessories. Loving how he’s looking already and with our amazing Designer the detail and authenticity mixed with our brand of fantasy is going to make him better than we ever imagined.

Factory is working on EP’s for Jagun, Chetan, Krieger, and Cro-Magnon to hopefully have for display and to put in people’s hands for Toylanta so they can see what the figures feel like and look like from the mold.

Speaking of Toylanta our Lion’s Den is almost finished for Toylanta. Printed even bigger than we wanted by Matthew at True Legacy Design. It looks insanely epic and can’t wait to pose the figures next to it.

 Last but certainly not least Backerkit is almost done we might wait now until the beginning of April with the Mythic Legions and Cryptoids Kickstarters launched to give you all a little breathing room. Tax season too so hopefully that will help anyone wanting to add to their orders before everything is shipped. We appreciate you all as always supporting us and being patient. Next week should have shots from the factory of the EP’s in mold colors and painted so that will be exciting! One more step before full scale production and shipping after that. Let’s Get Brutal!

Factory getting back to work.

Chinese New Year is ending and we’re expecting to get more regular updates from the factory. As well as hoping to get EP samples by Toylanta for people to see and really pose and play with. Not as advanced as we hoped to be but everything the factory is putting out is looking good. So we’re feeling really good the delay in production will be rewarded with great figures. The articulation range is already better than we hoped. 

Backerkit continues to make progress as the amount of skus is a lot to transfer and the late pledge option KS added complicates everything. Thankfully the Backerkit team has taken us by the hand to help guide us through creating the backer survey. Late pledges do not get the same discount as those that backed us during the ks and figuring out how to make that work has been challenging but we’ve figured it out.

Toylanta will be our first convention of the year at the ends of this month. Got some new stuff working for the display new dioramas and new background banner.

Test Shot Articulation Breakdown

Test Shot is here from the factoy and we are extremely happy with it! Video above goes over the articulation and addresses some of the notes we have given the factory to address. Next mold sample will be in mold colors and even paint so we’re excited for that update.

Chinese New Year is here and we’ve heard from a few people that they are disappointed we haven’t addressed our timetable being changed. We thought our weekly updates showing you all exactly where we are in production was being completely transparent but we understand the criticism. You want your figures now not later. So do we. So no more predictions because we are not good at it and instead just going along with the process. Molds are made, test shots are done, EP and FEPs are next and our factory moves fast. Just ask Unparalleled Universe how fast from test shot to production his Odious went out. 

Backerkit! All criticism for the delay in that is valid. We have a zoom meeting with the our backerkit representative Tuesday to guide us through the process as we have so many SKUs and the late pledge option KS has doubled that. So the issue is ensuring those who backed during the KS get that reduced price and those who did later get that price. Plan has always been to not send it until we were in production and had more renders done of all characters but it’s time to get it done. Thank you all for your patience and support! More updates from the factory

 First of the butterfly joints are pulled out to show range as always remember they go further in for your desired look and pose.

 These are screenshots from the video the factory sent me of the 2nd test shot. We’ll be posting it tomorrow on social media. UPDATE: posting it right now in our Facebook Brutal Realm Collectors group. They tightened up joints mostly from the first test shot everything else seems to be good. Also we should be getting it in the mail by tomorrow as well and I’ll shoot video of hopefully a more comprehensive articulation check. As well as check it against our prototypes and designs for any notes to give.

We’re gearing up for our first convention of the year at Toylanta with a new diorama called the Lion’s Den. It’s almost done printing with our friends at True Legacy Design who famously made a 1:12 Castle Grayskull and the Thundercats statues for Toy Federation. 

Lastly we were going to use the built in  pledge manager from Kickstarter to take the place of backerkit as it seemed more seamless but we were wrong. Complications after complications as well as not having as many features have had us switch to backerkit which everyone already is familiar with so sorry for the delay again. But it’s coming! Let’s get Brutal!
